I remember seeing on TV a couple of years back that a man could not be shown naked on TV if his "whatsit" was more upright (lol) than some peninsula on a map? any ideas where the peninsula is?

Hehe - that would be the Mull of Kintyre - and here's a wee map showing you:

Or Norway and Sweden:

Ethel - having looked at that map I think we need to talk!
Wasn't there once a map infamously published which left out Norway completely? I recall it left Sweden looking decidedly dodgy, especially with Finland playing its...erm...part as well.

It's Denmark I feel sorry for.
It was the map of the EU that was going to be used on Euro coins littleoldme. You can get the idea here http://www.smartdraw.com/examples/maps/images/ europeanunion_full.gif
It must be The Mull of Kintyre. Was there last week, drove up and up for what seemed like hours, narrow road too, and when we finally got there it was thick fog and couldn't see a thing. Going back to the map - I just can't look at it.
