Beef stroganoff is yummy but it, of course, depends whether you have the other ingredients.
Salad and rice noodles with soy sauce.
Ahh... Pimms and fillet steak.... "The corner-stone of any nutritious breakfast/lunch/dinner."

Personally i like to chop onions, scotch bonnet chillies, garlic, ginger and rub with olive oil, marinade and give it a good going over with my meat hammer to really get those ingredients deep inside before shallow frying or bbqing.
Serve with potato fritters and salad
You use a meat hammer on fillet steak?
quick fry sliced onions and mushrooms and set aside. make the pan hot, slice the steak into think strips and fry to almost your preference. set aside, Put in the pan your choice of sweet chilli sauce and heat to bubbling. stir in the onion and mushroom. remove from heat, stir in steak strips and serve on rice or pasta. Makes a little bit of steak go further and a good way to use fillet end which is often reduced.
That's the trouble with fillet, Zacs, too darned tough.
Just mash blue cheese with butter, fry steak as usual, slather it with the butter/cheese mixture and enjoy (you'll probably need some veg.!)
Missed this or I would have said a nice small Beef Wellington. Or grilled steak and egg for breakfast in the morning.

Yes i know that it's already soft and maybe you think it doesn't need tenderising i cut the fillet steak into thin medallions and prepare as i said above, but i forgot that i add a garlic and Thyme infused butter, it makes for a juicy melt in the mouth steak.

I'm not exactly a traditionlist and like to push the boundaries and experiment.
I'm in St Ives atm. I had fillet steak with port and stilton sauce the other night and it was lush.
Oh Mercy, I am envious. Love St Ives and have stayed there at least half a dozen times. Is this a day out or are you staying there for a while?
Here for a week, Togo, and getting married. We're thinking of eating at The Rum & Crab Shack tonight.
Yes that is good. Try The Alba right by the lifeboat station. You will have to book and ask for the window table upstairs. The Hobler is good as is "The Italian" Fore St. Plus a cracking burger at Blas Burgerworks down on the Warren past the lifeboat station. Fish and chips fro m the Albatross opposite the old cinema. Breakfast on the dock overlooking the Harbour, upstairs. Have a great week and hope all goes well. Congratulations to you both.
Just had a thought Barmaid. Sorry to pinch your thread. Hope your steak turned out ok.
