The Timing Of Phones......

Not cats this time.....phones......

The tiler returned today to finish of a little bit of the kitchen work and put back the double plug socket....

The electric wiring in my house must have been done by a joker..... we were quite sure we had turned off the power.....and yes, we had.....but there is always a niggle......

Just as the tiler bent over the floor units with his head under the wall units and his screwdriver poised on the head of the screw.......the phone rang....it's a loud ring.......only masked by the yell and sweary words of the tiler.......starting.....HOLY S****!!!!!!

He was going to do some grouting.....but I felt for him, so in exchange for some grout so I can do it myself, I gave him some vinegar and brown paper to mend his head and sent him home....

The roofers are arriving soon with their scaffolding......I may give them the keys and go away for a few days....... :-)

I'm thinking that way, Patsy......the gas man will only come back if I remove all the spiders...... :-(

You'd think they'd find a gas man who isn't afraid of spiders...x

Seems he was having a day off and the chap who owns the company came himself......
Perhaps he couldn't pay his tilers enough to return..... :-)

I'm assuming its not a cordless phone that you have - as they don't work if the base unit is not powered.

Phones that just connect to the phone socket are powered by the phone socket and not mains electric.

Tuvok.....at that point we had followed the markings on the fuse box....which should have turned off the sockets.......there was power everywhere.....we were wrong.....or at least the markings are wrong.....but we are alive.....and we never did find out what...."kitchen sockets" turns off......... probably the garage door.........:-)
