I understand the new Mini will be all electric but will there be enough charging stations to make it a viable purchase? Doesn't worry me, I'm waiting for someone to invent the digital car - they only need watch batteries and have no moving parts.
There aren't anywhere enough charging stations in Britain as it is. These new minis will be bought by the same people that currently but a leaf....in other words, people who just want poodle about there neighbourhood.
They would have suited my Mum. She only did about 2000 miles a year, and if they had built a Sainsburys a little nearer, it would only have been 1000 miles a year !
Surely all we need are universal, inductively coupled, battery charger rows built along every lane of every road and voila, no charging point or waiting. Charge as you drive/use.
