HELP! MP3 dilemma - iPod nano or Sony NW E005?

Hello, I'm looking to buy one of the above as a present and am torn between the two - I already have an iPod myself and have had no problems so far with it but the recipient of the prezzie prefers the Sony! On reading some customer reviews on the Sony there seems to be negative aspect to their software, whereas the iPod suffers from being easy to scratch and battery problems - can anyone help decide between the two?!

If the recipient wants the Sony, buy the Sony!

It should be what they want, not what you want them to have.

yes I agree but the recipient is unaware of this gift and also unaware of pros and cons of software, pc compatiblity etc etc - the sony just looks nicer and can be a funky colour!

The iPod is a million times better.

As for scratches, get the Invisible Shield and the scratches will be gone.

The battery problems were about two years ago but the iPod image still seems to suffer from it.

I agree that the ipod is a million times better, as for batterys I use mine daily and have had no problems with the battery -when all`s said and done look at the scope of the apple service/web site/itunes /accessories etc, sony make good products but apples ipod is the clear leader.
