nope its a decorated strand of a kind of weaved string and i think for the first bit it is weaved into a few strands of hair to keep it in your hair.

no its not hair.its a coloured piece of material that is weaved in with the hair and left there.they used to put these things into people hair around town before.when they are putting them in they have a square piece of cardboard that they bring a piece of hair through and they attach the piece to it somehow then.i assume its stranded.

We just used to call the hair wraps. Quite popular in the mid 90s
