Solution To Low Life Traverllers. Why Does The Government Not Give Powers To Councils To.....?

c) sell sell afore mentioned motors to cover the costs.

Like most people I have little time for them, but nor do I like other groups, like religious nutters who ring the doorbell when I'm having Sunday lunch and the louts who make town centres unsafe or even no go areas at night on weekends....there are many groups that we would be "better off" without, but that's just life. The Swiss had a fix for Gypsies - for many decades until 1972 they hunted down the children and removed them permanently, placing them into institutions of one sort or another - it didn't seem to work....

Nb. History may well despise those many millions of us who for generations were and are slaves to the "factory buzzer" going into vast sheds without protest from dawn to dusk and in winter never seeing daylight until the weekend - like something from HG Wells....
I think it's a safe bet that history will treat gypsies more favourably.

There was a gypsy site in FOD many years ago. Set up by the council with toilet block and all amenities. It didn't last long, totally vandalised. Eventually they left.
About 18 months ago they came back. They got a JCB and removed huge rocks that was blocking a site across the valley from my house. They moved in. The mess was horrendous. The powers that be got them evicted.
They have come back again. The site was blocked off again to prevent them getting in but they have managed to get on again. I have to look on this every day. They pay no rent or council tax. Why should they get away with this?

I think we all agree that romanies /gypsies are a whole different race to those that we are moaning about... there are quite a few in my area that overwinter with landowners permission in exchange for a bit of help..nice folk that can't be more charming and obliging... I used to look forward to a family coming to my town when at primary school as the wee girl was one of my good friends, her and her brother would come to tea often whilst in the area...their parents called round to thank us for being friends..kids can be cruel but I loved their caravans..a big shiny modern one as well as a traditional one and of course their horses..I thought they were so glamorous!

No they really arent rare Tora, that's what some of us are trying to say, lots of people are for the most part confusing all the differing groups of travelling people and lumping them all in with what would colloquially be called in Ireland 'Knackers'- who are a thoroughly horrible lot by and large.

anyway we seem to have established that there are are a few decent ones and a lot of lowlife filthy thieving scum but no one seems to have addressed the actual question above, why do the government not solve this problem with the simple obvious measures outline in the OP?
