Carpet Stain
5 Answers
My son in laws large puppy was visiting and managed to swipe a mug of black coffee off the coffee table over my beige carpet with his tail. Needless to say I now have a horrible brown stain. I have used 1001 carpet cleaner, both the mousse and trouble shooter ultra every day for a week and although it has faded it is still very much there. I read that black coffee is a dye!!
Any advice please. I have contacted my insurance company and logged it. I actually don't want the upheaval of having the carpet replaced as I am not so young as I was and have recently been widowed and the room is quite large. Does anyone know a product I can use. Do you think a professional carpet cleaner would be able to remove the stain?

His advice is to contact a reputable carpet cleaning company and ask for advice and perhaps a free quote when they have looked at it.
Don't know if your insurance company will cover the cost of this...you can ask.....x

Rug Doctor (an electric carpet cleaning machine) is very good. Can be hired from Homebase, B&Q etc, but it is quite heavy and you would need help having it picked up and returned. Is there someone, family member, neighbour, who could do this for you?
And sorry, rather an obvious answer, but is it practical to have a rug over the stain??, if all else fails?
