Has anyone ever had the ceramic coating melt on their straighteners? At first I thought I had got a build up of hair product on mine, so I tried cleaning it off, but discovered that it was the surface of the plates which was coming off. I've had them less than a year but have no receipt. Any ideas?

I've just discovered this on mine too - when I tried to scrape the goo off the ceramic coating peeled away!

Unfortunately, mine are about 3yrs old so I'm just gonna have to buy some new ones!!

should have got G.H.D. straighteners... they dont coat, they use solid ceramic !!!! :-)
you could buy another pair. keep the receipt and take the old ones back as faulty in a month or so !!!!

you obviously want a new pair, so may as well work the system !!!! (im gonna get slated !)
Should've gone for wet-to-straight,best ever!!
