Yep but it spins in such a way that the same bit of the moon is always facing earth.
Trying to wrap my head around this...it spins but in such a way that the same bit is always facing earth? So we spin on an axis and travel round the sun, the moon travels round US but one side is always facing us, so it doesn't spin on it's own axis, the motion of it moving around us is in essence, spinning. So it's more like...the moon is turning around us, but because we are spinning on an axis, the moon appears to be static. Like a male dancer walking round his spinning partner? To teh rest of the room he is moving but to the spinning dancer, he is still facing the same way. Far out man!
