Good Morning GG.
I knew it would not be that long before we were set a "treasure hunt" style puzzle and here we have one this week.
A tad disappointed with last week's offering, though. The puzzler might just as well have opened with "I am travelling along Hadrian's Wall close to Milecastles 64 and 65 in the suburbs of Carlisle!"
I wasn't the smartest at History at school either but even I could remember there were only two Queens of any significance knocking about the land in 1567. Lizzie I and Mary I - well, until that position came to an abrupt end in 1587 when the former had the latter topped.

Just finished today's offering, which I agree was a big improvement on last week's. Fair took me back, as I've been to the village in question many moons ago, though alas not the island. Initially misread the puzzle and assumed it was the much bigger island to the south-east - which I have been to several times! Took me a while to track down the novelist, though, never heard of him.
