Why should Trump and his foibles, statements, dress sense, and anything else be immune to a bit of comedy bashing? Every other president, along with kings, queens and politicians have put up with it over the centuries. He's no different. See the cartoons of 17thc satirist James Gilray....he would've had a field day with Trump....
Sqad, am just curious, what do you mean about further humiliation?
Do you mean he humiliates himself and then we pile on or do you mean something different?
PP....you certainly can pick the, thanks to the internet;
I knew Gilkes well, that was not an article, but a letter to the BMJ and it was also 1959, the year i qualified.....58 years ago......but the rest of your post is entertaining.
My simple point sans www links is that Trump did what millions of other people must have done, that was to squint at the eclipse for seconds as to continue would have been too painful...but it was TRUMP.
Mr Trump comments
" I'll tell you whaaaat, alba, I aint humiliated. No way. I am gonna stare at the sun, close those South Korean car plants, build a warl and make 'murica great again. All in one day. period."
{ editors please note: period is a 'full stop' and nothing to do with EEvarnka or anyone else (Patton - Trumps golden doodle)
alba....you know what i mean perfectly well.
From the day he was elected President of the United States of America, all those who don't like him and his style take every opportunity to poke fun.
Fair enough, but this is just another excuse to "humiliate" him.
I don't know the guy.
He is different.
He was voted President by the well established American system.
Get used to it.....he may be a "lame duck" OR he may get a second term of office.
That's all.
Sqad - he (Gilkes) was fascinating to talk to
I think he was most proud of retinal haemorrhages - also a letter to the Lancet - but what they hell it was a first.....
(the auction houses do a big thing about letting buyers and sellers yak)
I have never liked the odious little toad since he took the crofter to court to evict him from his land so HE could build his golf course.
Am so glad he won that case, cos that helped to make 'murica great again.

And I would also wish that people could remember that he was elected (under their system) and the truly horrid Ms Clinton was not. The Left never can cope with democracy.

He was just momentarily screwing his eyes up while looking skywards. I did that too as I was on the East Coast of the US yesterday. We had a thin layer of cloud that came across before the eclipse and I was able to look at it without glasses. Maybe they had the same weather conditions where he was.
