Does a worker, i.e. mechanic and occasional driver, of a registered Trader need to be mentioned on the insurance policy, or is a full driving license enough for him to work on and move cars around?

I think people have to be named. I did in a previous job.
It is the drivers responsibility to check that he or she is insured to drive a particular vehicle. Ask to see the policy to check the coverage.
