If you're not bothered about the pain, by an epilator, they come with a cooler these days that you put in the freezer before you start and the hairs dont have to be so long as in a waxing situation.

It used to be tht the hairs had to be quite long but that's not the case anymore. I get waxed on the first Saturday of every month. The hairs are not too long and it still comes off no problem.
The only problem with waxing is it encourages ingrowing hairs, which is where the exfoliator comes in. You don't need to go for an expensive brand name as they all do the same job. Exfoliate all the areas you get waxed around 2 or 3 times per week and that will help loads - your skin looks and feels amazing for exfoliating regularly too :)
I got so sick of years of waxing/epliating and the horible rash, I took the plunge and had laser treatment to kill of the hair on my legs. Best thing I ever did, although it was very expensive.
The best thing I've found for exfoliating is M&S Royal Jelly and Pure Honey Sugar Body Scrub. I'm not that keen on the smell (like Eau de Cologne) but it works very well and leaves your skin feeling very smooth.
