Do We Need Tougher Cycling Laws?

After this case there have been calls for tougher cycling laws but I don't think we need them, we just need to more rigorously enforce the more than adequate ones we have. Eg stop riding on the pavement, through red lights, no lights, no brakes, non road bikes etc. All we have to do is get serious with what we have not introduce more to ignore. This guy was riding an illegal bike for example and should not even have been on the road. Lets start prosecuting cycling offences.

Obviously, I don't like cyclists doing it, though I make an exception for children.
As for hand signals we could go tit for tat all day on that one cos motorists signal EVERY time don't they?
Or shall I tar them all with the same brush you're using for cyclists?

I condemn any cyclist who rides illegally and against the Highway Code or otherwise, as I do motorists, especially those who drive and ride without any consideration for others.

I also condemn pedestrians (whether I'm cycling or driving) who cross the road without looking whilst glued to their phones, oblivious to all and sundry with their headphones firmly in place.
As I said, until there is a proper cycling infrastructure we must all share the road as legally and lawfully as we possibly can, though I reiterate the point about young child cyclists but you overlooked them as a category for some reason.

Yes I think some pedestrians need to be more alert and concentrate on the situation around them.

Young cyclists I agree need to be off the roads, but even some of them need to recognize that they are sharing the footpaths with pedestrians.

As for a proper cycle infrastructure, thats another debate for another day.

You know nothing about me. I do not have any agenda, so again you are wrong. I just want to see justice. Your previous posts on other threads show a complete bias in favour of cyclists.

My agenda was simply to discuss the topic (cyclist kills pedestrian, laws for cyclists, prosecution of cyclist), rather than road tax or how motorists treat cyclists. Still, thread successfully derailed. Well done derailers, mission accomplished.
