Objections from a new housing estate included "the noise of the bat striking the ball" and "the effort of batting and bowling" !

These "noises" are only to be heard for a few weeks of the yea.. If they didn't like the sound of cricket being played, why did they buy houses so close to a cricket ground ?

The complaints seem to be about the position of the new practice area rather than the club itself. I guess net sessions can go on all year round, not just the playing season.

I did laugh about the complaint about men in their underwear removing boxes and pads. Why are they looking if the place bothers them so much?

First part is clear in its meaning

This type of thing creates disharmony and is completely uncalled for.

While I can see it's a bit extreme to moan but to dismiss their worries because you think of cricket matches as the odd howzat - is dismissive. If you read the link this is for practice nets that will be used not only by players but also schools. That puts a different slant on it altogether.
