He wanted to update everyone who has been kind enough to to enquire about him, and it's all his words.

He's supposed to have a named nurse who meets up with him but he's STILL not met them. The advocate he asked for never turned up. He went outside of the hospital for the first time in two weeks and had a panic attack, yet they're still on about discharging him tomorrow even though he says he doesn't feel safe yet.
He still hasn't seen a doctor either. Just a smarmy nurse practitioner who keeps insisting he is ok. He's asked how can they insist on discharging him when he hasn't seen a doctor, and they say a nurse practitioner is equivalent to a junior doctor.
They just keep giving him pills - 2 different anti depressants,2 different pain killers, laxatives, sleeping tablets, and tranquillisers.
He's dreading going home, but says he's had a rest from the drink being in there. Bored out of his mind. His sister has rang the ward re the whole situation but she isn't getting anywhere either. Says it's a complete shambles.

Thats sad that he doesn't feel he is getting any help but he is still in a better place than he was.
Still thinking of you Nailit xxx
why am I not surprised..nailit.. will mail you xx
Does he have anyone who could contact PALS on his behalf?

I suspect the advocate to which he refers is an IMCA. I am not sure he is entitled to one because he does have capacity. But PALS may be able to help.

I rather suspect that part of this is a breakdown in communication. My experience of mental health services is that a CPN or Nurse Practitioner will deal with many things.
Nailit (I'll address this to you)

I can understand you feel like they are getting ready to wash their hands of you, but try to see this break way as a chance for you to start afresh as best you can.

Read up on tips to help panic attacks (they're hateful I know) ' have another try at getting something voluntary even if only a few hours here or there.

Anything to stop you hurtling towards another crisis.

PALS - I guess his sister could?
Worth a try........
I've never really had a chance to communicate with Nailit. But I do hope things get sorted out for him and he sees the people he needs to and is able to move forward.
I understand how the panic attacks must make him feel.
But if you see this Nailit. I wish you all the best.
Queenie xx
I can't offer anything but continued best wishes to you, Nailit :-)
He should also remember that most anti-depressants take a while to work. There is no quick fix in this situation. He must keep taking the medication.
Thanks Smowball for the up-date.

Has Nailit been given and agreed a Care Plan with the hospital. If he hasn't, then I don't think he can be forcefully Discharged.

It might be worth drawing the attention of Nailit's sister to the following :-

Hans.
This is the link I intended which then leads to the one I gave you:-

Must be hard if you're not being seen, hope someone can help. You have my continued support Nailit all the best and good luck.
Sounds worrying but hopefully they know what's needed. Good luck with whatever occurs next.

Thanks for those links Hans
One bonus that I can see is that his sister is looking out for him. I hope she has some success. She needs to make a lot of noise in the right places.
I wish Nailit all the best.
I hope he gets the help and support he needs and deserves. It is good that he has his sister fighting his corner as well.

What would happen if he just sat on the bed and said no. I'm not leaving till I have a meaningful conversation with someone (with sister in attendance)?
Sounds like the usual NHS problem of non-joined-up communications. We've been appalled by some of the so-called 'systems' we've come across (got a v. efficient French system to compare with).
His strength is a caring sister. She's going to have to be very strong.
She might have to what I did in May - go into the hospital and simply refuse to move until she sees the person she needs and gets the answers she needs. It does focus the staff's minds - but I wasn't popular.
No way should he be discharged if he is still having panic-attacks and before medication kicks in. From experience (ex.) it's about 6 weeks to be anything like on the safe side. Hang in there, nailit. :) x
I have nothing to add, just send him my best wishes.
I dearly hope Nailit is on the road to recovery albeit a very slow one. Please pass my regards onto him x
