In a disciplinary hearing, if your chosen representative is not available on the booked day for the hearing, If you request the date changed but the employer refuses!! because the manager taking the hearing will be going on holiday, where do you stand and what can you do about it?? Hope you can understand that!!
If you give them written notification in plenty of time there should be no reason why you can not make a different time, but if you are in a union get there advice if not seek legal advice.
As i said
Different firms have different disciplinary procedures. Companies are not governed by any law in that regard. Bone up on the disciplinary procedure of your company. It will help you. And, if in doubt, admit absolutely nothing.
The acas site states what to do if you or the represntative can not make it but not if the companys manager can't neither does the companys policy statement. This is why I'm confused the RMT are looking into it but anymore help would be appreciated
