PS3 is confirmed to use HDMI 1.3 but my HD TV only has DVI input, will i get the full benifits of HDMI 1.3 if i use a convertor to plug it into DVI?

I don't think so.
DVI can handle high resolution, as it's a computer monitor connector. Assuming it's being used to it's capabilities there shouldn't be a degrate in resolution.
a HDMI socket can be connected to a DVI socket.
It works, it transmits the image.
But it might not support all what HDMI does, such as encryption and sound.
