Tuesday. It's quiet without the wee white tornado hurtling about. I shall be seeing her, and mum and dad before long!

I have some lovely people from the Lions coming to sort my garden out tomorrow, so I shall make a cherry and pineapple cake today to keep them going. I don't know how many there will be, but the kettle will come of retirement, I don't think the weather will be good enough to get the barbie going. I shall see tomorrow.

Mount ironing to be scaled today, since it didn't get done yesterday.

Have a happy day everyone.

Minty, love the pomes :-D xx
Hmmm, a few rhymers here today.

'Twas in a land below
I reckon you all should know
Although the sun shines bright
Mother nature supplies a fright

Wild fires they do glow
Fueled by a westerly on the blow
But we all gather together
And toil for days, seemingly forever
To continue life downunder.
there was a lad, his name was Donny
fair o' face and aye sic bonny
he didnae come fi Scotty land
but aye did want I understand
tae sup the sup and tak the walk
tae come and learn the Scotty talk
but he met a lass her name was Ann
and Scotland lost that fair faced man..
Alba it takes longer to fill it than make the cuppa in about 35 seconds .Must save loads on electric .
Minty, brilliant but I am originally Scots, born in Govan brought up in Maryhill and emigrated to England when I was 14.
Good one, ozzy. I'm glad things are under control down there.

I think you mentioned that you are British and went down to Oz when you were young. Just wondering about flights. I've always wanted to go, but OH and I are arguing about whether it's better to do the whole 24 hours in one go, or stop for a day or so half way.
Came here on a ship Clover, 1961 SS Canberra.

Mum and Dad did the going home for a visit thing numerous times.

Found the non stop flights too much. Two day stopover somewhere suited them.
Donny wis born a Wegie man
who when a lad off he ran
doon sooth tae be a sassenach
but that disnae really mak
him sic , cos ye cannae tak
the blood o Scotland frae his veins
despite the accent he noo feigns
that's a looong flight Clover...best to break with a stopover in Singapore maybe
