Clearing the clutter...

I'm not one for storing lots of bits and pieces as I like to keep the house, shall we say minimalistic.. but since moving I've come to realise just how many items of clothing I have... I started to clear some of it out this morning with the intention of giving it to a charity shop (some items still have the price tags on that's how bad it is) But everytime I look through the mountain of clothes I start finding things I like, then make a pile of 'to keep items' and end up back at square one!!

My question is... being pregnant I can't wear any of it just now and am living in maternity wear... Do I take the plunge, get rid of all of it and start a fresh once the baby's born or do I shove it all away again?

Help!!

Sorry, just realised this might have been better placed in H&G. :o/
hey keep it and hope u can get back into the sizes after wards! it would be an incentive!
...Either that, or if some still have price tags on them sell them on e-Bay!!!!

Good excuse to go clothes shopping once baby is here :o)

Dot's is a good idea tho, maybe keep some really must have items and e-Bay the rest!
Hi Lore,
I just did the same thing as I am moving too. I found clothes from years ago that are in great shape but will never ever fit again :(
So I was merciless and ended up giving a load of stuff away to charity.
I find that throwing them directly in a bag or box prevents me looking at them again and having second thoughts.
Good luck with your move and with the baby!

I`m meant to be in the attic today packing stuff, far too hot for that, I`m only taking my Elvis records and the xmas tree with me when we move, all the other stuff is going to the dump, how`s the bump going anyway?

Thanks for your replies x
I think I'm going to have to limit myself to say - 10 items and the rest has to go!

Elvis...... Just over half way there and everything's great :)
You got your house then? - I was wondering if you'd moved yet but couldn't find an appropriate place to ask!

lol, yep, got one in a little village, 1 school 1 pub and 300 population, I move on the 14th, can`t wait either
Question Author
That's fantastic news :oD

Wow, one pub!! heheheheheheeee

I've got to ask... will you be the only Elvis in the Village? :oP
Too right I will, lol, thats if I can get broadband there, bit iffy at the moment

awww are we going to have to ship in supplies?

I'm really glad you got the house you wanted tho, knowing how difficult it is! Bet your lil ones can't wait, have they been to see their new school?
Yep, we got invited to the school by the headmistress, we took the kids along and they liked it, it`s only got 56 kids there, unlike 30 plus kids per class where they go now
Question Author
Ok, if you see anymore houses for sale there you have to contact me - I want to work in that school!!!

saying that, next year's looking good - I'm out of class and just S.E.N based whoooppeeeeee :D well, mornings that is, afternoons I'll still have I.C.T classes. (both keystages)

Are you staying where you are - work I mean?
Well done, I`ll still be working at the same place,it`s only about 10 miles away

there`s only 4 classrooms in the school, they have a computer room too, stacked out with pcs and laptops, which are still there after school holidays, unlike the current school, which gets robbed every half term

lol I bet behaviour management isn't an issue either!
Our numbers are down this year, we only have 400 (ish)

anyway, I'm going to attack those clothes again see if I can be brave and bag some of it.

catch you later.... well done on the house! :)
I put weight on after abdominal surgery & got rid of 7 bag fulls which I gave to local charity shops.
sorry, i find it very hard to part with my clothes. as dotty said you might be able to fit into them after the baby comes.
wat size r you?

giv them to me im too poor to buy clothes lol

:)

well, after ploughing my way through them again this afternoon I've decided they've got to go! there's no way I'm going to wear even 10% of them ever again - due to changes in fashion.
