Sunday. The sky is clear. Decidedly chilly out there. It would be nice to have a rain free day, I might be able to get the shed roof done. That's all I've got today, so I might go down to the canal too. Or go up to Minchinhampton common for an ice cream at Winstones factory shop. It's beautiful there. Then again I might just be a lazy git! :o}

My Vera had cancer twice, both times she was in great pain, but she never complained once!
I don't know if I could be that brave.

Pixie, my mother didn't register me for nearly a month and only decided my name on the way to the Registry Office. When I asked why, she said she wasn't sure at first if she was going to keep me.

My mother missed her calling in life - she should have been a Diplomat!

She was indeed tilly. Always more worried about me than herself.

You find that, WBM. I could tell you some tear-jerking stories from the patients I meet over on our unit.

There was one chap who had cancer and opted for chemo. Sadly he lost both his legs to chemo related sepsis and only pulled through by the skin of his teeth. Despite this, when his cancer came back, he was desperate to undergo any available treatment as he didnt want to leave his wife and son. His wife then had a massive heart attack and he decided she would have a better chance of recovery if they focused entirely on her and he declined treatment for her sake. So very sad.

best go run roon shower and get ready whilst the going is good...by the time he is up and recovered from his trauma it will be timely for buying and taking flowers to dad..then a foray to Musselburgh Wetherspoons... wee trip to harbour to visit friend with yacht.. so will speak later.... bye for now..hope you all have a nice day too xx

Nom that is a sad story. We've seen similar time and again.

When I took her to Cheltenham oncology unit for her chemo, there were always plenty of patients having treatment, I was always sat beside her as it went on, there was so much laughter in that treatment room. It always made me feel very humble.

I ought to make a move too. Get the paper, then to tesco to have the usual banter with the checkout girls. I always meet up with a mate in there and between us we usually have them giggling.
