Who Called Me?

Help me, I have a lot of missed calls from [phone] late at night. When I call back, they do not answer the call, where I can find out information about this phone number and maybe someone has any information about this phone number? Here https://whosenumber.info/13473480611 I learned that these are scammers, is it true?

Judging by some of the post on there yes it is a a scam. Can you not block the number on your phone?

I didn't click your link Luisa but used another I have used before, says it's a call centre.

I have been plagued by this number ringing me, including twice on Sunday afternoon, when its nap time at Mikey Towers ::::

This originates in Bradford. I have enrolled with the TPS, but its ruddy useless....see my other thread on this subject today :::

Mikey, it is very likely that the caller is abroad, using VOIP. The TPS can do nothing to stop overseas callers.

HC....yes, I see that. But if it can be proved that calls using this number are illegal, then I am sure that use of the 01274 number can be stopped.

The reality here is that all regulators are completely useless in dealing with these scams.

Use Google to find out more about them. The call could be genuine....it might be a hospital, or other organisation.

Do what I do :::

1..... Take phone off the hook if you can.

2.....If you can't, then use an answer phone or answer service to filter the calls.

3.....Do a 1471 and google the number.

Do what I did. Invest in a smart phone where you can block all kinds of numbers.

Yep never ever call them back! A police officer told me that a few months ago - there's a few scams where they somehow take money- I don't know how though

BT now do a free caller filter service. Check their website. No idea how effective it is though. Signed up for it recently but it hasn't been long enough to judge any change.

+1 indicates it's from the US: 00 1 347 348 0611 so I would say it's from Brooklyn, (347 is the dialling code from Brooklyn). I had this once when a US marketing outfit was trying to send a fax. Here is the number mentioned on a US site:
