Of all things, a Sparrowhawk had flown into our garage whilst we had the door open most of the day.
My garden is FULL of sparrows, and I often see a pile of feathers on the grass, NOW I know why.
One of them must have fled in there, and presumably he went in after it, and didn't have the sense how to get out again. He was throwing himself up against the window.Guided him out in a matter of a minute or two, and off he flew.

I ran outside assuming a woodpigeon or similar had fliwn into the glass and was very surprised to find it was a sparrowhawk, sadly stone dead due to the impact. I can only imagine the hawk was homing in at full speed on the lovebird and didnt have chance to hit the brakes... It was a beautiful bird with perfect feather and a mean beak snd utvwss with great sadness I put the magnificent creature in the wheelybin. Where we live they and also buzzards are becomjng much more prevalent.
I had a large tree outside my kitchen, Ferlew.....I was watching a blackbird when a Sparrowhawk took it.....the blackbird froze in its captor's claws and I ran after them shouting.....Naughty bird....naughty bird......drop it now!.....Like a numpty....and....
It dropped the blackbird which just ruffled a bit and flew back into the tree.... :-)
