Luther Strange *was* Trump's favoured candidate, so I think you have it the wrong way round.

I had considered posting about it but from a slightly different angle. Apparently Luther Strange was also the preferred candidate of the Republican leadership in general. The winner is someone who's reputedly more like Trump than the man Trump backed, so who knows what it means?

At any rate, it's a fairly minor event in the grand scheme of things. I'm rather more pleased by the failure, again, to push through a badly-designed ACA "Repeal and Replace" Healthcare Bill.

I don't think you understand what this election was. All the candidates are Republicans, the party Trump represents (allegedly). The winning republican becomes a candidate in the Senate election against a Democrat (right on brigade).

He didn't admit he didn't that all the candidates were Republican, or the the the winner was 'from the right on brigade'.

the big thing about the ACA "Repeal and Replace" Healthcare Bill" is that it repeals but DOESN'T repllace - and the politicians are looking to the hereafter ( er next election that is ) - and thought 'oo-er what about the voters we deprive of health care?"

Please try to keep up. Biggest scientific discovery of the last two years is that the boy/girl-male/female "binary" distinction is a fallacy, and a pernicious one at that. I've read a research paper produced by fifteen Ph Ds from the Gender studies faculty at Keele proving conclusively that:

(1) there are no genders.
(2) there are an infinite number of genders.
(3) there is no correlation between gender and physical characteristics like wombs and penises.
(4) anybody who disputes any of the above conclusions is guilty of a hate crime.
