Been shopping with my mother, stopped for a pot of tea, came home and did a ploughmans style lunch (goats cheese and walnut salad, cheddar, pork pie, crusty baguette and mum's homemade quiche).

Now sitting down and watching Wuthering Heights (the original 1939 B+W). Time to break open the choccies...

What's your day been like?

Quite busy I suppose. Pretty non-descript really. Not overly warm; has rained.
doctor given his clearance and my pressure in at 128/78 so not too bad.

just been out to Camborne to drop off 5 items for needlework/darning, three golf shirts and two cashmere sweaters...took the mater and came back through 'The Dump' aka Redruth, then Chacewater for tea.

Went into the garden centre there where I had the worst scone ever in Cornwall, huge but exploding into a mountain of crumbs - and the jam and cream, well you needed a magnifying glass to see it.

My mother looks at the small plant pots on the table and asked what they were, response "A garden - that's what it says" (not gardenia) and she dissolves into a puddle. Then when I said, they're plastic.".....

Am out for dinner later, good pub food usually, a lovely hostelry and one of my customers for my drawings.....

So a nice day, DT, save for the dry old scone.
Going to hell in a wonky trolley!

It's been bedlam. Very very busy but all my customers have been lovely!

I don't know what it is about trolleys, QoM but I somehow keep bashing my feet on the wheels.

Are you the green fingered type, Minty?
Lovely quiet day here, jobs done now relaxing with a cuppa before the peace is shattered by the larger than life presence of our 19 month old granddaughter, who we are having for the night. Your lunch sounds scrumptious apart from the goat cheese, tried it twice, came out in rash both times :(
Well I've been to work this morning and a quick nip to town this afternoon but the main event of the day is we've had treefellers in to remove a huge eucalyptus tree that over shadowed our entire garden. The difference is amazing, it's like someone's switched on a new sun!

Sorry to hear that, Ama. I'd be crushed if I were unable to eat goats cheese. Sadly I've become allergic to all forms of mint since being pregnant.

My parents had similar, Prudie. Theirs was chopped down and they now have a beautiful cherry tree down the bottom of the garden.
Hi NoM. Went shopping at Sainsbury's, then met friend in there and we had some lunch, then she came back here to have a look at my lovely new kitchen and we drank tea and chatted for a couple of hours or so, very nice !
Pregnancy can do strange things to you NoMercy, I was last pregnant 27 years ago but I remember it well ha, I've never had coffee since.
Question Author
Hey Hereiam, congrats on the new kitchen. A new kitchen is a thing of joy, comparable to having a new car :-)

Ama, I've gone off coffee a tad too.

sadly i am not overly mobile, so i have only been able to totter to the shops and back to get some fruit. i would love to be able to go and have lunch across the way, there is a nice Lebanese restaurant that does very simple but good food. so instead i am having ardennes pate with toast for lunch, which is shortly.
afterwards its find a good book time, and settle down.
wuthering heights, is that the one with Laurence Olivier?
if so brilliant film.
