Why Can't Media People Pronounce Things Properly?

With the recent political conferences, I've heard various media people (TV and Radio) saying things like "Pardy", "Polidical" "Commiddee" "Meedding" etc. What's wrong with these people? Why can't they promouse there worms property?

Or the middle day of the working week pronounced "WENS-dee". Or "LIE-bree" for library.
Some people, of course, do have what used to be termed a speech impediment whereby they are incapable of pronouncing sounds like the voiced or unvoiced 'th', so you hear "maffs" instead of maths, "I wouldn't have fought so", etc.
So long as meaning is clear, however, it doesn't grind my gears so much as incorrect written English.
