Toyota Yaris
Hi, I recently purchased a 2007 1.4 diesal car and it seems that it is not giving me good miles per gallon. I put in 20 litres of fuel and it has not finished yet but so far it has done 100 miles and I think another 30 miles and I will be refueling avian. The car has been serviced and has only 2 owners current on 80k. Any advice will be appreciated thank you.

I have a VW golf 1.9tdi and that does 235 miles with 20 litres. I have been reading and it may be the dpf but will have to ask a mechanic. The car is used locally morning and afternoon trip to school drop of. I will fill up up and add some redex to it at some point it has had its injector's changed.
This stuff is good.

Have you noticed any black smoke when Accelerating? check the tail pipe, is it "Sooty" with respect to Tony's answer I think you have a pump fault, on 80000 it should not need the use of Injector Cleaner, the car should return at least 50+ MPG, Is there a roof Rack on the Car? what gears are you using? do you get into top gear as soon as you can? If there's a previous owners name on the V5 contact them and ask if the had the same issue regards the MPG, the car needs to go onto a Diagnostic machine that will tell you how the car is running, have you contacted the seller with your concerns?
NISA...I have a 1.5 TDI Fiesta and I really have to cane it to get much below 50mpg. My average is about 55mpg....You should be getting be similar.
Do a full tank check, as FF has instructed. Do you not have an on-board computer, that will give you this reading ?....most modern cars do, although if its 10 years old, it might not.

In all honesty you've done too few miles to be able to work out your fuel consumption on the vagueries of the accuracy of a fuel gauge. You need to fill the car to the top, do about 300 miles, fill it to the top again noticing how many litres of fuel you buy and work out your fuel consumption from that.
