How come, if you get it, everyone's speaking English yet they have English subtitles. Do YOU understand them?

It depends on how broad an accent is. Most folk in South Wales can be understood without issue. I've not gone to the north as I hear there be dragons up there.

It came up on iplayer recently, yet to have a look at it but I couldn't say I've ever had a problem understanding a south wales accent

lol, ummmm, the department next to me had an Irish boss. Everytime he said anything to me, I had to go to one of his staffers afterwards and ask "What did he say?"

When my uncle was in hospital the consultant used to arrange for me or my sister to be there for when he seen him so we could translate.

We’ve just had a Scottish electrician in and I seriously didn’t understand a word he said! He was laughing and joking away and I just kept nodding!
