Recipe book

Hi, I have lots of recipes that I have collected over the years and would like to put them into a book so they are easy to find. At the moment they are all loose and when I want one I have to search through loads to get to the one I need! Does anyone know where I can buy a book specifically for storing recipes, with different sections etc? Thanks in advance.

Why don't you get yourself a simple A4 folder, a hole punch and some dividers? Then you could divide them up however is easiest for you, or look in a recipe book to see what kind of categories they use.

I think it's an excellent idea to keep your own recipes in your own book - no more hunting through because you're favourite one is hidden in the middle!

Clear pockets in an A4 file is the cheapest. there are a few recipe holder products around from Amazon and the like that have flip over pockets in a wire ring or have 'recipes' printed on the front of a folder, but a DIY version is cheapest.

If you really want to get organised, use one of the recipe programmes for the pc - Bigoven is one to buy or Recipe Center is a free download. This sorts by quantities, you can import from other sites and arrange according to your requirements, print menus etc etc. Have a look at this as an option - http://www.recipecentersoftware.com as it might be handy.

If you have a scanner, you could create a folder and scan in the recipes. It might take a bit of time but the results would be great. I think I might try that myself.

Hi PF - good innit? If you use recipe sites a lot or just search for an idea and want to save it for future use, that sort of programme keeps it all in one place, so certainly good for keeping records in order.

Pre-printed info can just be filed - but how its organised? ingredient, meal type, by plan, cost . . - up to the user . . ..

i bought my boyf a recipe book from borders - it was a tenner and was basically a posh binder that took a5 pages, but it had dividers in for 'meat' 'fish' 'sauces' etc and lots of pockets where you could slip in recipes til you get chance to write them up.

it had lots of pages in but you could easily add more.

its really handy and we keep it by computer and whenever find recipes online write them in it. i'd recommend it - saves making your own!

I keep mine in a folder but i laminate them first cos- i guess i must be a mucky pup- but they always end up looking very used! Being laminated is brilliant they just wipe clean and dont get curled/ripped around the edges
