Once again, Donald Trump, the 44th President of the United States claimed last week to have invented the word 'fake'.

CNN are are wrong. He claims to have invented the word 'fake', not 'fake news'.

as pointed out in one of the those stories, he didn't invent "fake news" either. Perhaps he just pioneered using the phrase about true stories about himself.

ymb, Donald Trump may be rich and powerful, but to claim he invented a word that is known to have originated in the 18th century is idiotic.

I had assumed that Trump was misquoted, and that he didn't really say it, just was taken out of context.
But I have now watched the clip, and it is bizarre.
He says

How can someone live to be 71 years old and not heard or noticed the word Fake? This is strange behaviour, and may be evidence of a medical condition.
