Not being a tech person, I was wondering if this would be ok for my ceiling light.
I have the Amazon Echo, Dot, but why would it have to go through my router, unless I am reading it wrong?

I looked at WIFI bulbs, but they are so expensive, as its for a 3 light chandelier.Thanks.

It's only an on-off switch and not a dimmer (which I'd prefer to use wit room lighting). However it will would work OK with your ceiling light.

In the same way that your printer (if it's wireless) connects to your router, allowing you to control it from any other device connected to that router (such as your desktop PC, your tablet, your phone or whatever), the switch also connects to your router so that you can control it with any compatible device (such as your phone or Alexa device).
