Tummy scar - it horrible

I had an operation on my tummy last year. Its all healed up but I am left with an 'apron' a hangy bit of tummy over the scar. Its really horrible and makes me feel ugly. Has anyone got any tips on getting rid of it because even if I lose weight it doesnt go away.

I had a reasonably flat tummy for my age (45) before the operation but now its a funny shape in jeans and looks horrible. Im so concsious of it.

Has anyone had a tummy tuck and if so what was it like and was it really expensive.

Dont get your hopes up I only have a small saving grace and it comes in the form of Bio-Oil.

It is a miracle cure for scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Therefore it should help with the scar.

I use it for everything from face moisteriser to reducing my stretch marks from childbirth.

I can totally sympathize with you after I had my beautiful daughter I have a 'baby apron' and cant get rid of it for love nor money (well actually money might do the trick but cant afford surgery!)

Hi suzi-q, I had 3 c/sections so I have an apron as well. Its true what you say,even losing weight does no good that aprons stays! I would say a tummy tuck if its getting to you that much but I doubt it would be cheap or available on NHS. Kay.

Thanks - I think you are right. The scar is virtually invisible but it is this fold of flesh that just hangs over thats the problem. There is no muscle in there because its been cut.

I wonder how much a tummy tuck is and if it could also get rid of stretch marks.

hi suzy - it won't get rid of your stretch marks...

my friend had a tiummy tuck and it cost around 2K - it pays to shop around tho......you will always have to go private for this kind of surgery.
