Slate Tiles

I have got black slate floor tiles in my downstairs loo. They look lovely until someone washes their hands and drips water on them as it leaves a white 'stain'. Is there anything I can put on the tiles to stop this happening? TIA

White stain ?
Maybe a water softener would solve the issue.
Failing that, a good rug.
