We're having a sort of wok chicken curry / stirfry with poppadoms.

I'm just having a pot of tea in M&S atm and I see that their extra thick chocolatey biscuits are half price, so I might pop down and get some just now.

Im coming to stay with you, Shoota. I think the ready made version is safer all round, NoM and particularly in your condition. However, if Junior fails to put in an appearance on time, I am sure I can send you some "BM's original smelling salts" - little un will be outta there quicker than a rat up a drainpipe........

I have spent all morning picking and boiling a chicken carcass and have made some simple cream of chicken soup for the boy when he gets in and then chili and salad later.

Salmon fishcakes and cheesy mash potatoes !
Meat loaf
2 lbs of lean beef mince
1 egg
2 large onions blitzed in the food processor
1 heel of bread dried and made into breadcrumbs
2 beef oxo cubes
salt and pepper
Mix all together if you think its a bit dry mix in some milk a couple of glugs at a time.
Shape into a loaf shape and place in a large deep tin (this needs to be bigger than the loaf)
Then slice 2 more large onions into rings and cover the meat loaf totally (you have to like onion)
Cover everything with tinfoil and cook on 180 for approx. 90 mins to 2 hours, when you have stabbed it and the juices are starting to run clear take the foil off and allow to brown.
At this point there will be loads of juices in the pan, pour off and use to make your gravy.
Leave loaf to rest and serve.
It makes great butties the next day!
oooh, Islay, thank you, thank you, thank you xx

duly copied and filed :-D
Lol no worries hope you like it as much as we did (do) xx
