Can’T Find Shoebox Appeal....
14 Answers
Recently I saw an appeal where you could fill a shoebox with items, treats etc and send it to someone for Xmas- I’ve done it before. There’s ones where you send them to soldiers, ones for kids and the elderly abroad in struggling countries etc, but I can’t seem to find a decent one this year that doesn’t involve trying to find a random drop off point etc. Can anybody point me in the right direction of one? It’s just something I really like doing. Thankyou muchly.....

I think. Lot of homeless shelters and such like do them as well so you need to find an organisation youn like and ask them what they need. The ones we do in school are children's ones with the usual toothbrush and paste, brush, hat, gloves and scarf but with a toy and colouring or something.

I read sometime ago about an organization that was collecting shoeboxes for kids in Africa and then putting religious literature, including Bibles, in the boxes. At first (as an atheist who detests religion) I found it offensive and deceitful. But on second thoughts I realised that the recipients would probably just throw away the literature anyway and enjoy the other contents of the box.
