Just read yogi's post in a thread below re: Ouija boards.
Have you had experience of using these? Years ago I was the token sceptic in a paranormal research group. One night a few of us were experimenting with Ouija boards. Me, been the sceptic, suggested that participants were blindfolded while another (non blindfolded) member acted as the scribe. The results were as expected, garbage. BUT I also know lots of other people who claim to have had unnerving things happen when using them. Personally I think that by using them, we are accessing parts of our unconscious that's best left where it is.

even odder, my "real" short term memory is drastically bad and always has been!

Thanks woofgang, interesting that you also mention autism as my ex's son was also at one time thought to have been autistic (personally I never saw him this way, I often thought that he was frustrated and 'misunderstood')
I've always thought artists 'see' differently to others to draw/ paint pictures etc as they do. Now I think it's what you've been describing Woofgang. Interesting.

partially maybe.....I think the question I would be asking is what stimulus causes the susceptible people to see what they see....because if they are all seeing the same thing then it can't be something from their individual memories.

Carl Jung and his ideas about archytypes?
Why does a 'yesyes' board have a 'No' section?

Woof, it took me a while to wrap my around it all as well. But once you do it all makes a lot more sense...
Yes, loads of experience. When my friends and I used to party in north London , we went through a phase of coming back from some nightclub or other (a bit worse for wear) and due to not wanting the night to end we used to play about with Ouija boards among other things. We didn`t get any definitive answers from the boards but the glass used to move all over the board.
I haven't read all the posts but Ouija boards are best left alone.
Many years ago we had a session with ouija boards with family and friends.
Mother asked if there was a message for her.
It spelled out "Go dig your grave"
Mother screamed and ran out of the room. We never tampered again.

Naomi, why best left alone?
Caran, any after affects? As I said previously, Ouija boards can access our subconscious and 'go dig your grave' seems to be a fear of our own mortality.
Mum never forgot it and wouldn't do anything like that again.
Nailit,// Naomi, why best left alone? //

Because I've seen them, and known them, to do some very odd things. I don't know why or how they do it - but until we have the answers to those questions, best left alone.
have been involved in a good few sessions. have witnessed all manner of messages, mostly good or interesting to myself and strangers that were there too..some details absolutely not known to anyone else but the recipient... would not do it in my own home though..too much unknown and unexplained
haven't used ouija boards for over 30 years.
One occasion was interesting, soldier allegedly killed in WWI, his wife re-married.
Last occasion was nasty, glass became red hot, raised about 1" off the board and smashed.

Leave alone !!
I would never use a Ouija board, they scare me. I share others feelings about that Derek bloke too !
