I wonder hoow this makes the victims of violent crime at the hands of these scum feel?
Why is it we have allowed our prisons to become such lax places. And where is the security, if you can get a mobile in then you can get anything in.
Crazy, we must be the laughing stock of the World.

Then why make a comment about it?
I once saw a con have a fit on the stairs because the prison doctor wouldn't give him his meds for epilepsy. That's just cruel. Ive been twoed up with cons who have severe schizo disorder who were convinced that the radio DJ's were taking the 91ss out of them, not a pleasant experience for them or me at the time.
I could go on but go on believing that ill prisoners don't deserve health care,

''Eddie, re ex prisoners not getting paid employment on release, how many had employment before commuting a crime?''
My thanks to Annesquith, for so concisely proving my point!
At least 30% of prisoners actually need help for mental health problems (just look at Nalit's posts) rather than being locked up. Someone makes a mistake, commits a minor crime and ends up in front of a judge who decides to 'make an example of them'
(see Smowballs recent post)
They end up in jail and never get a job for the rest of their life. This of course means that they have to return to crime to exist.
In parallel with this consider the role of prison officers, they do a vital job and dangerous job but get no credit for it. Many people think that 'screws' are little better than those they have to keep locked up. I have spoken to prison officers who have not had even a single day off in 16 weeks.
Leave booked months in advance is cancelled with just a days notice.
I know prison officers who have had pre booked leave cancelled at less than a days notice and as a result have lost holidays they booked and paid for with no compensation. Would you put up with that? Prison staff have no choice they are forbidden to strike or take industrial action.

^^^ Exactly , but the next time The Wail is short of a scandal and so rehashes the 'prison hotel' story we will get this post on AB .
Oh, and how many of you (apart from Nalit) know that smoking is totally banned in UK prisons now? even in outside areas,That has led to even more problems for and violence against prison staff.

Eddie - where do you get your figures from?
I know quite a few people who have been to prison and they all have jobs. So isn't it more a case of who you know or who you are?
Someone from a sink estate with no job and committing petty crime is far less likely to gain employment on release than someone who has committed a one off fairly minor crime.
