What does your solicitor say?

I'm. Seeing him.next week so I will. Kno by then. I was attacked whilst stopping the victims partner attackimg another woman then got hit from behind by the victim then hit more when I turned around. After the incident I gave the guy first aid until the police took him home
It sounds like you could claim self-defence BUT the devil is in the detail and you'll be able to gve your Solicitor a fuller picture of events than you can here.
Try not to fret.
Jack has it right here....see what your Solicitor says.

Ok thanks guys. I think I do have a good shout at self defense as I only did enough to get him off me. Unfortunately he obtained bad injuries. But I do feel like pleading guilty just to get it over with as long as I stay out of prison
That's never a good idea......and there is NO guarantee that you will stay out of prison.

Be advised by your Solicitor.
Jads....as Jack has said, pleading guilty is a bad idea. You might not go to Prison, although I think it likely that you will.

But in any case, you will end up with a criminal record, for a act of violence.
"Wat Shud I Expect" - jail.

I have no previous. Been working as a doorman 10 years. Got good character and great character references. A young family and a business that employs people and apprentices. Hopefully that will be considered. Also the victim is known to the police apparently
Question Author
There were also other ppl involved in the mass brawl and witnesses have said there were loads of ppl throwing punches.
As said you need to ask your solicitor he/she will be able to get more information and advise you as to the best option.
Question Author
Ok thanks guys
Jads...that all seem to work in your favour. Hopefully your Solicitor can make a good defence for you.

Can I ask that you keep us informed as to the progress of this case....we like feedback, and it will be of help to people in similar situations in the future.

By the way....... ignore the post at 14:54.
It seems that there are a few 'positive' things for you to concentrate on. Do that and keep on doing that, and trust your Solicitor to take care of the Legal stuff.

Best of luck.
I agree with the rest that pleading guilty wont make this go away
so you have to see it out
and plead self defence

you have to go with the lawyer on the ground and not us
these imjuries are pretty severe -and you have to hit someone pretty hard to pop their eye socket
the jury is going to have sort out who did what

you are also having to look for another job arent you
you lose your doormans licence after any conviction dont you

anyway good luck
"you lose your doorman's licence after any conviction don't you?"

Innocent until / unless proven guilty!

With a fair bit of luck, a good lawyer and sympathetic judge and jury, the OP may yet be found not guilty.

I'm not too worried about my doorman license tbh. Just with a young family and a new business that employs people going to prison wud be tragic. Suspended sentence and community service etc I would be hoping for if found guilty. I kno of other cases that were more clear cut than mine that had lesser charges offered for early pleas.
All I can do is to repeat what others have advised, and that is to put your fate completely in the hands of your solicitor / lawyer. If he/she advises pleading guilty, then do so. If not, then don't. From the little you've already revealed, this is by no means an open and shut case, but only your legal representation can accurately evaluate all the facts and advise you accordingly.
