It searches by road, postcode or landmark, and was a snip at about 250.00. It corrects itself if you go the wrong way, and I managed my first 100 mile motorway journey using it. The screen is clear, and can be changed to night vision mode for driving in the dark, but the voice prompts are accurate and clear enough that I find I don't need to look at it much.
The only downside is that the battery doesn't last long, so you need to keep it plugged into your cigarette lighter socket as you drive, although you can buy at-home chargers for extra I think.
