can or does anybody know how to record from minidisc to pc

I have a minidisc and record our band playing. I am extremely annoyed that my minidisc (a sony one) will not transfer the music (our music that we make) to the PC via USB. Sony have got thier knickers in a twist about copyright and taken a very useful thing away from the technology. I have read (not that I can do it) that you can transfer songs from a minisic to a PC through USB and software like SonicStage. The crappy thing is that the resulting files (uncompressed like .wav files) are saved as .omg so you have to get an .omg to .mp3 or .wav convertor. In the end I get a wire from the headphone socket to the PC and re-record the music as a .wav using Soundforge or Audacity. Sony are a bunch of *****.
