Is it me, or are the fireworks getting louder? Last night, I was jumping of the sofa when fireworks were going off somewhere nearby, probably 6 streets away!.

Well I am now because the noise is a great cover for people who make a noise while breaking into your garage as I found out to my cost last night.

Oh no, did they steal anything of value?
There has been a spate of it around here. They are looking for good bikes. I was really surprised they didn`t take the hedge trimmer though. I must be the only person around here who has had the burglars in but they decided not to take anything! We did hear a bang but just thought it was fireworks.

I always wonder if it's a gun or bomb if it's just one or two bangs. Also wonder where people get the money to spend on fireworks when it's not even Nov 5th yet.
They tend to start around Diwali and continue until well past Nov 5th. A complete waste of money.
I'm not scared of them. Neither is my cat.

I'm guessing the people who buy them have jobs!
It will go on for weeks if not months. Can be very unsettling sometimes. Who would know if it was a gun or just loud bangers??...

They don't frighten me, just annoy me !
am not scared of them just find them annoying.
Wish they weren't on sale to the public.

237, that's awful ! :-(
no, not at all scared. Made very very angry though because of the effect it has on my dogs. Loud noises tend not to make me jump because i am in earshot of a container depot and the noise they make when they drop one the last few feet onto the stack is LOUD
NO, not since I was a very little boy.
No they don't bother me at all.
As regards to being burgled my Bro many moons ago said to me, 'If anyone breaks into your home they'll probably leave you a few quid.'
It's you. They've got quieter by law in recent years. If it's loud, it's unlikely to be a consumer firework.
