Help With This Photo Please

I have this photo of a scene from my home town in North Wales. I'm trying to make sense of what im looking at. Is it an Armistice Day anniversary? What date? What are the flags? One looks as though it COULD have the word REMEMBER.

Prudie, fancy you having a connection to Bangor too. That machine which stamped your name on a metal strip was my favourite thing too. I was born in Bangor but brought up in Cheshire. My Grandmother always remained here and we visited almost every holiday. The pier was number one day out! Crab fishing, a look through the big telescope, the lettering machine, trip on the little ferry either over to Beaumaris or the shorter trip to Glyn Garth, all finished off with a scone in the cafe at the end of the pier. Happy memories.

I have used the "subscribe" option, top of the page next to your avatar and the report button. This then triggers an email from AB HQ to me saying that there is a response on this thread and means that I do not need to keep calling it up and looking just in case I have missed a post on it. The Garth pub by the pier used to be a cracking spot to sit on the grass with a pint or so, in the days when you were allowed to take a glass out and have a lazy hour or two.

Hi Togo, I finally got to ask Phil what his job was at Telefusion and this is his reply,

"I was a TV engineer, short lived there....got caught doing foreigners that is repairing tvs for cash".

Seems he was a naughty boy!

Lol Horseshoes, we were all doing that. I probably made as much doing foreigners with aerial installations initially, then with TV repairs as I was making at "work". I was actually known as *****(my first name)TV...... when it meant something completely different. When I was in charge of the service department I stopped my staff(tv engineers) from nicking spares by just saying......tell me what you have used without booking or I can't help you. When they needed something expensive they got help, and I got a guy that would go the extra mile. Happy days.
