what was the name of the film?

I recall seeing a film about a village which was going to get it's first ever phone box. In the plot the mayor insists on being the first to use it. He does but gets locked in and can't be freed.
He makes a call and some time later the phonebox, with him inside is taken to a big warehouse - he thinks to be released but once inside he is confronted with hundreds of phone boxes containing the dead bodies of other people simply brought to the warehouse to die.
Everyone says I dreamt the plot but I know it was a film - help!

As in la Cabina el quiosco del tel�fono, has the same storyline but doesn't mention a mayor. If this was an English version you seen, do you think it could have been a tales of the unexpected?
