I take it for back pain. Not all the time but when needed. Didn’t even cross my mind but Mr Smow just said he is 99% sure I can’t take it into the U.S next week. I’ve Googled and am getting very random answers. Anybody know??

I wouldn't even declare my pain killers when going into the US. They are not interested. They are more intersted in my grenola, tea bags and UHT milk.
Don't worry...they won't bite. Lol

Myself and daughters Italian BF got pulled aside on the UK side at Heathrow...lord knows why. ;-)
random checks, pasta. I've had them on both sides of the Atlantic. Sometimes the TSA have a look in your bag when you're not around and leave a little note inside telling you so.
Take a copy of your prescription with you and you should b e OK. I've never had my luggage searched in the USA.
When I travelled last year, I was advised by border guards to keep my prescription with the medications in my bag in their original packaging. You won't know if they open your hold baggage as its all done behind the scenes.
That's right.
