Excess Furniture

Advice please. We are downsizing and have some large pieces of furniture that don't fit into new house. Dining table and chairs, matching coffee table, 3 seater leather couch, matching chair, all in good condition. Should I send them to auction? Not too keen on selling online as I am unsure of their value. Can anyone advise please? I know I can donate to charity but hopeful of getting a few pounds for them.

keep in mind that if you send to auction, you will have transport costs, vat, ans auctioneer's fees which will bite hard into your profit. I ended up giving an almost new stressless recliner, side tray and footstool to charity because no one round me wanted it even for 40 quid.
I know......it was bought for my late husband who used it about twice :( every time I looked at it it hurt....felt that I "should' try and sell it as it had cost so much. Additionally it was too big to fit in my car to take anywhere. In the end I donated it via an app called goneforgood who collect donated items on behalf of named charities.
As already said auctions are expensive and resale value is pitiful especially when fees and transport are added. And of course you have to take it all home again if no one buys it.
I went to a house sale a couple of times. Put everything, and I mean everything you want to sell in one or two rooms, stick either fixed price labels on or reasonable offer accepted labels and have an open house.
One family were moving overseas so everything in the house was up for grabs. We got a really good corner computer desk and bunk beds.
