(To quote what a prominent barrister once said to me,referring to the whole of the judicial process, as seen by lawyers: "It's only a game we play").
So if, say, a defence barrister is pleased that (partly through his own representations) his client has received a lighter sentence than he'd expected, it wouldn't be at all unusual for that barrister to express his pleasure to his opponent (and then to be congratulated by that opponent).
Other than that, I can't see that there's a great deal 'to make of it'.

Fiction Factory - I'm not sure. All I know is that my boyfriend was dragged through the dirt by a nutcase that waged a social media against him and the culprit got a suspended sentence and 30 days probabtion (but there was no financial penalty). But to watch the Barrister say to the opposing Barrister that was a good result, struck me as odd. Especially when the person was actually supposed to go to jail.

Davenamo - That's what we were expecting. The culprit was charged with perjury and harrassement and stalking. The cuprit sent emails to myboyfriends firm claiming he was a rapist. They even set up fake profiles of my boyfriend bragging that he was a rapist. Even a regulatory body contacted my boyfriend to see if it were true.
