//At least two wrong buttons imo.//

The error can be made with just one wrong button.......
If it's a standard homework question then it's quite possible that several people will want to ask it. And quite possible that several teachers will have messed up the marking.

I don't know what's happened here, but at a guess maybe Eddie's brilliant answer gives a clue...

(While we're at it, Eddie, how could you look at what the question was, see the "answer" you found, and not instantly think "this must be wrong, no way can 8-4=9"??)
Many years ago I and the rest of the class got a maths problem wrong. Turned out that the teacher had been marking from the answer book which contained an error.

///The error can be made with just one wrong button///

3484 / 3479

How does that work then Angie55?
Punch 5369 in instead of 5364
If you punch any button instead of the 4 you will get an error.
Baldric, enter 5369 instead of 5364. Reasonably easy to work out.
There is another button EDDIE pressed that he shouldn't have.
That could be said of many of us on here Talbot.
Buzz - As well as stating the answer was wrong, did the teacher inform your child what they thought the answer was?
Mamya, True ... but when you are having a dig about a poster's maffs it's probably best to make sure your own is up to scratch.
Certainly but to stretch the thread on that error alone seems OTT, to me at least.

Last time I had a go at a Maths thread I ended up with more than egg on my face.
The question is in 'Chatterbank' (you, of course, know the rest)
I do.
Did your child put in the units, metres? 3484 metres, although as the units are in the questions they should be necessary. Can't believe people went for a calculator, wrong buttons or not!
"Can't believe people went for a calculator, wrong buttons or not!"

Nor can I. But then I was taught to add up and take away when was at prmary school.
