Recently I have started getting hay fever type symptoms , sneezing running nose watering eyes, after eating bread , now I am getting the same after eating corn flakes , I know both contain gluten but my symptoms do not seem to fit the description of gluten intolerance I have read.
Are my problems likely to be due to gluten intolerance?
I really enjoy fresh bread and would hate to have to stop eating it.

I think that your symptoms are extremely unlikely to be due to gluten intolerance which almost always produces symptoms related to the gut. e.g diarrhea or bloating.

You have either developed a cold OR developed an allergy to something else....probably airborne.
Eddie, you don't seem to have any of the symptoms.

If no gut pain, then I doubt it's gluten intolerance.

Any family history of it?

A trip to docs for a blood test would rule it out, maybe there's something else in the ingredients you are reacting to?

I have none of the classic symptoms , just a sneezing session after eating bread. I do get mild hay fever but only in summer. At first I just put it down to hay fever but that seems very unlikely at this time of year. It's more just an annoyance than anything, but I'm just curious if it could be Gluten causing it.
I am not going to put a link because there are loads, but recently its been discovered that many food allergies in dogs are being caused by food mite allergy, not an allergy to the food ingredients themselves. I don't mean to cause offence but I wonder if that is the problem with you? You might be able to tell by eating the suspect items somewhere else....maybe eat some freshly baked bread straight from a bakery right after you buy it....and see if it gives you the same symptoms. If it doesn't then you have some serious housecleaning ahead of you :(
Where do you get your bread from and how is it packaged? Could help rule out some kind of allergy related to the environment the bread comes from e.g. more rustic bread from a farm shop. Similarly, do you keep bread in a bread bin or do you make your own bread? Might give some clues.
Similarly, do you eat bread and cornflakes at a certain time and place as opposed to other foods? Are they are kept in the same cupboard?
If you can afford it, have a York test done. They are expensive but then you'll know for sure what you food intolerances are, if any.
