I noticed he continued with this daft notion, even when Marr gave him the opportunity to take it back.

Apparently Hammond is retreating, as fast as his little legs will allow him, for his earlier, disastrous interview :::

In a later interview with ITV's Robert Peston, the chancellor said: "Of course I didn't mean that [there is no unemployment]...
"The point I was making is previous waves of technological change have not resulted in millions of people being long-term unemployed."

So why didn't he say that in the first place ?

Prudie....it was obvious that he didn't mean that we don't have any unemployment. But Marr gave him an opportunity to correct or retract, but he still kept digging.

He is the Chancellor and you would have thought someone of that calibre wouldn't make such obvious mistakes. Instead, this will now held against him for some considerable time to come.

It is possible that anyone who really wants a job now has one. So it may be true that there are very few people actively seeking work.
I have been telling TTT for a while that his supposed army of WWS has effectively ceased to exist, not that it has any discernible effect.

Problem with the present Tory Party is , T/M
called a General Election , which cost quite a few Tories their seats and gave Jeremy Corbyn a very good boost and caused resentment amongst Conservative members that transformed the Cons from the Nasty party to the Nasty to each other party .They can not get their own house in order , so how can they Govern ?.
